Relax and Enjoy Our Friendly Visitor Services
In the valleylands recreational opportunities and activities have blossomed in recent decades, enhanced by the construction of the Shellmouth dam in 1969 that created Lake of the Prairies along the Assiniboine River. More recently, Asessippi Ski Area Winter Park has become a premier recreational destination in summer and winter. Trails for snowmobile, RTV, bike and cross country skiing and hiking trails provide scenic and exciting access to the area.

Plan your visit to the Assiniboine-Qu’appelle Valleylands soon. The area is well equipped to provide the products and services travellers and visitors expect. The region’s friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable people in the many towns, villages and First Nations’ communities provide a range of accommodations (hotel, motel, bed and breakfasts) restaurants and cafes, grocery and convenience stores, automotive service stations and arts and crafts shops. The region also features two official provincial travel information centres in Russell and Langenburg as well as municipal and regional travel information offices in some communities.
